Markel Tax

Gross payment status

Gross payment status allows construction businesses to receive payments from contractors in full, without any deductions, enabling them to pay all tax and National Insurance at the end of the tax year.

Increasing numbers of construction businesses are losing their gross payment status due to technicalities, which can damage cash flow and credibility with clients. Under the CIS scheme, HMRC is reviewing every firm’s status and payment history and estimate that 40% are failing the test.

Markel Tax can help where the HMRC has taken away gross payment status or is in the process of trying to do so, even where payment issues or late returns are evident. With our help, numerous companies have resorted their status.

Fees can be agreed up front or taken on a 'no win, no fee' basis, depending on the circumstances.
